NEW SHOES!

Way back in February I went for a run; the first in several years. A month later I went for another. Then I decided I'd aim for a half marathon at the end of May; and I actually went so far as to make a training schedule. Three shorts runs in the week, one long run each weekend, getting progressively longer and some cycling too. After I told the bike shop I wanted to cycle the whole 'Survival Tour' this year they told me I should do the 240km training ride in May with the 'fast' group. So I'm trying to train for that too. Training for the training ride just so I can keep up with the super-fit bastards.

Then I went on holiday, got explosive 'geri' and an infection in my foot. Limped for a week. Got better. Crashed my bike. Limped for a week. Got better. Got blisters on ALL my toes. Limped for a week. Got lazy.
So obviously my training schedule was not proceeding as I might have liked. So I did the only sensible thing I could do. I spent a LOT of money on new schmancy running shoes.

Am I harder, better, faster, stronger?

I'll let you know when my blisters get better.

Gran Fondo in Niino - 240km - 20th May
Judy Run - 21km - 26th May
